It is a little bit of a habit of mine to explore some of the more niche parts of 'alternative media'. And occasionally it turns up some bits relating to World Heritage Sites. They mostly stem from bloggers in the USA claiming the UN is trying to grab their land and restrict gun ownership. They do all seem to do a sterling job in obscuring potential issues of concern under some rabid Hyperbole.

I just came across this article which was worthy of note for including trends found on both the left and right wing fringes of these types of blogs.
It also goes beyond the normal UN uses management plans to control sites, to just outright claiming the UN now owns Bethlehem (along with every other WHS). And that it was particularly keen on acquiring Bethlehem because it would boost the site's role in the international tourism lobby and further fund UNESCO (who seem to directly take all revenue from the sites).

Anyway, just thought I would share that as I'm not sure I have seen a report that has distorted quotes so wildly in a little while.
