I have long had problems trying to establish exactly which parts of Mexico city were inscribed. The ICOMOS evaluation of 1987 just states "ICOMOS approves a strict delimitation to be applied to Zone A (corresponding to the city prior to 1810) while making Zone B (corresponding to the growth of the capital in the 19th Century) a buffer zone"

But where are the boundaries of Zone A? No map is provided and there is no indication of which blocks might be included/excluded.

I have failed totally to find a map but have managed to find this description of the Zones in the form of Mexico's 1980 Historical Monuments Act (in Spanish of course!). I file it for reference by anyone interested!

Using a map of the city centre it is quite easy to work out the boundary of Zone A -the description commences on the western side of the city just beyond the Almeida area and progresses clockwise to return to the same location.
In particular, it resolves one doubt I had always had as to whether the Palacio de Bellas Artes was included. This magnificent building was constructed between 1904 and 1934 and contains murals by Rivera etc. Despite the comment about the area "corresponding to the growth .. in the 19 th century" being in zone B - it is within Zone A. The UNESCO Web site does mention it but that is no guarantee!
Els - it should be added to the "Theatre" connection
