China has submitted a new (and significantly shorter)
Tentative List
, omitting for example some popular sites in Xian (Stele Forest, City Wall, Chinese part of Silk Road),

finally. there are far too numerous similar/duplicate nominations in china's outdated tentative list. so when they submitted a new set of nominations last year, there were a lot more serial proposals to consolidate some of the nominations. among those "duplicated" nominations were the venetian townships of eastern china, ancient city walls, and karst formation (which could be included in the south china karst world heritage site).
