I hope this topic will generate some interest. It started when I discovered there is not yet a Connection for this historic seawater inlet.

INSCRIBED SITES:
1. Sanganeb Marine National Park and Dungonab Bay - Mukkawar Island Marine National Park (Sudan)
2. (With possible connection) Historic Jeddah, the Gate to Makkah (Saudi Arabia). The buffer zone ends just outside the 40th Lagoon, the eastern shore of the Red Sea. Arguably, Al-Balad or the Historic Town maintains its significant connection with the Red Sea as a gateway/seaport.

TENTATIVE LIST:
Natural Sites - All marine or semi-marine sites (of course)
1. Ras Mohammed (Egypt)
2. Desert Wadi - Wadi Gemal (Egypt) - Marine component
3. Farasan Islands (Saudi Arabia)
4. Natural Landscape of Obock Region (Djibouti) - 7 Brothers Islands + Mangroves of Godoria, Ras-Syan and Khor-Angar components

Cultural Sites
1. Suakin Old Town (Sudan)
2. Egyptian Hajj Road (Saudi Arabia) - a series of coastal roads along Red Sea
If including Gulfs of Suez and Aqaba:
3. Raitho Monastery or "El-Tor" (Egypt)
4. Pharaoh Island (Egypt)
5. Dahab (Egypt) - An archaeological site (Surprise!) and not Blue Hole

Do these sites fully represent Red Sea World Natural and Cultural Heritage? What other properties should be added in the Tentative Lists of Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Egypt, Eritrea, Yemen and Djibouti?
