I don't think we have discussed this subject in depth, but excessive tourism negatively effects several WHS to the extent of endangering them. Venice is perhaps the most iconic example. A few cities which suffer from excessive tourism have now joined forces to develop common strategies:

I think Venize is very crowded but I believe every place has locals complaining if you are popular, Dubrovnik, Palau, Sevilla, I think the only place I've really seen overcrowded was the Vatican and they can easily fixed that by selling fewer tickets a day...
