I'll surely have to revisit to take a photo of this new plaque to also add Maltese as one of the languages used in the UNESCO symbol with inscription plaques :)

Valletta is one the European capitals of culture this year too. Hope you enjoy your time in Malta as much as we did in Australia and I look forward to your videoreviews (even though you'll only be able to do 2 videos)

Thanks! We're both really looking forward to Malta, since we've got an apartment in Sliema and aside from the WHS visits we should just be chilling out most of the time. But I'm going to do a video for all three sites, I assume you're referring to the Hal Saflieni Hypogeum? Heritage Malta wouldn't give me permission to film inside (all of their reasons were completely fair), but they've given me some B-roll footage of the inside I can use. I've done this for other sites as well where filming wasn't permitted (eg Westminster Abbey), so I just need to film myself entering and exiting, and then do a voice-over later.

Where did you visit in Australia - I saw the Exhibition building review? We are from Sydney and love it despite its faults :)

We visited the GBR, Fraser, Wet Tropics, Gondwana Rainforests, Royal Exhibition Building, Tasmanian Wilderness, Australian Convict Sites, Uluru, Willandra Lakes, Australian Mammal Fossil sites, Blue Mountains and last but not least the iconic Sydney Opera House. I had a great time in Sydney for my birthday!

Very exhaustive, but looks like a great trip! Embarrassed to say that like many Australians I haven't travelled much in my own country, so you've been to more of the WHS places than I have!

You'll be happy to know we got our obligatory photo with the new plaque! The Ggantija temple complex also has the World Heritage symbol with Maltese language engraved on the visitor's centre, so we have a photo with both of course! I don't remember seeing it at the Hypogeum, strangely!

:) My Sydneysider wife is the same. She has only been to four of the inscribed Australian sites; Opera House, Convict Sites, Blue Mountains and Tasman Wilderness (this last one because it is where her family are from).

Hope you enjoyed Malta, it is a really lovely place.

Hopefully it's OK to post this, but our Malta videos are all finally online! HeritageMalta kindly provided some footage of inside the Hypogeum that we were able to use which was great - otherwise it would've been a very short video!
