We already have a "Connection" for the "Europa Nostra prize for Conservation"
http://www.worldheritagesite.org/connection/Europa+Nostra+Award
But Europa Nostra also "runs" (and has been doing so since 2013) a (mainly) biennial list for the "7 Most Endangered" Heritage sites in Europe. In so doing it joins other "endangered lists" such as that operated by the World Heritage Fund

As might be expected WHS and TWHS sites do figure.
The 2018 "shortlist" of 12 sites (to be reduced to 7 on 15 Mar)) has just been published - See http://www.europanostra.org/12-sites-shortlisted-7-most-endangered-2018/

Those interested in "Heritage" generally should find some interesting sites among them (some perhaps might find their way onto future T Lists?) but I noted 2 particular points of interest -
a. The (T)WHS "candidates" - Vienna, Gjirokastra, David Gareji (T)
b. The presence of the Bulgarian Communist Brutalist Memorial of Buzludzha. Any Forum "members" going to this year's "meet up" in Bulgaria might be interested to fit in a visit as it is close to Kazanlak. See - https://www.lonelyplanet.com/bulgaria/veliko-tarnovo-central-mountains/travel-tips-an d-articles/bulgarias-ufo-the-spell-of-the-abandoned-buzludzha-monument/40625c8c-8a11- 5710-a052-1479d276292a

I have had a quick look at the entries from 2013- 2017 and they also contain a fair mix of (T)WHS sites - perhaps we should have a "Connection" for "On Europa Nostra "7 Most Endangered List"??

What isn't quite clear to me is what actually happens to those sites so inscribed and can/does anything much change in the year(s) during which they are listed? The objective is stated as being to "mobilize public and private partners on a local, national and European level to find a viable future for those sites" but, as far as I can see, there is no European money directly tied to a listing. Nevertheless, it would appear that they (or their agents) actually APPLY for this registration so it can't be considered a "badge of shame"!! Perhaps they move from this list to the "Prize for Conservation"!!

I have created the connection, but can only come up with 2 certain connected sites. Did you see a third one? Many are TWHS (and 2018 is not chosen yet)

Very true (2013 -Vauban, 2016 - Venice ?) - I ignored the fact that 2018 was, as of now, still only a "short list"!! I was too keen - sorry. Keep it on the back burner and see what happens in March!

Thanks.
Have just noted that I have visited 4 of the 7 (David Goreji, Constanta Casino, Vienna, Grimsby) and hope to visit a 5th at Voskopoja Albania next month. Surprisingly it is NOT on Albania's T List but UNESCO has done work for Albania which included looking at its state of preservation. See this very nice document on Albanian Cultural Heritage in general from 2004. A document (in French) which, IMO, is well worth anyone who is thinking of going to Albania downloading and referencing - http://unesdoc.unesco.org/images/0013/001389/138967F.pdf

PS - I note that we don't have a "country" topic for Albania (nor for lots of other countries). Might it be worth rationalising the titles of these country topics to adopt a standard nomenclature and alpha sequence rather than the various approaches which have "grown like Topsy" and begin to use them more widely as a "store" for "country related" matters which often get lost (as with this one) in other topics?
