The data from the 6 largest state party tentative lists are interesting in terms of short and long term trends. China is obviously attempting to diversify its world heritage sites, and recently we have seen more nominations outside the key population areas of China, in an effort to be more inclusive toward the periphery and Autonomous regions. Tibet, Qinghai, Inner Mongolia, Liaoning, and Jilin Provinces have new Tentative nominations. Turkey has a stunningly high amount of cultural nominations, by 2020 Turkey's tentative list may be 100% cultural/mixed! Italy and France both have somewhat exhausted tentative lists if you consider beyond 2019. Most of their current priority nominations are relatively recent, therefore it remains to be seen if France and Italy will try to dust off old nominations or update their tentative list altogether.
