Many reviews I have read online state that the poles at SGang Gwaay are being allowed to collapse and return to the earth. Would the complete collapse of these poles end the World Heritage status for the site, or would the grounds and maintenance of the site itself continue to be worthy for World Heritage listing?

I visited SGang Gwaay back in 2012.
The Haida people have made the decision to let all the totem poles revert back to nature. However, there was talk of expanding the site to include Gwaii Haanas National Park, where the village is located. It would almost certainly be a mixed site.
