The weekend of June 15 and 16 is World Heritage weekend in The Netherlands. This year rapper Ali B will visit several sites and there are special activities. See http://www.werelderfgoed.nl/nieuws/unesco-werelderfgoedweekend-15-en-16-juni for more info.

Strangely enough, the first World Heritage center of the world was scheduled to be opened last April (see post) but after the first news message I didn't hear anything about it anymore. However, the opening of the weekend by Ali B in Amsterdam will be in the same building. Does anybody know more about the center? I actually walked by the building yesterday evening and didn't see a thing about it from the outside (although there is an exhibition about the Amsterdam canal ring on display)

The next world heritage weekend is June 14/15. I guess it's going to be a yearly event every second weekend of June...
