The Dutch government has opened a website where new tentative sites can be proposed.
They still hang on to the "thematic approach" (i.e.: watermanagement, 17th century NL, international and 20th century modernization).
The committee wil decide in September 2010 which sites will be nominated.

So, any guesses from our Dutch contingent about sites which might emerge as proposals from BEYOND the current T List?

Maybe Kerkenhof for its Dutch international image and tourist sensational icon from tulip mania that impact the whole world of flower industry :P

Or maybe Gouda and Edam for their popular chesse industry since 17th century as well as the beautiful city environs :)

Or maybe Madurodum as one of the best and eariest example of miniature park?

Or maybe Modern buildings in Rotterdam area such as Cube house, Van Nelle, Erasmus Bridge and the whole city reconstruction! (Sadly that the beautiful old Rotterdam Centraal just demolished)

Btw I really enjoyed my visit to these sites and will not complain at all if one of them become a world heritage sites :)

Today I visited one of the sites on the current Tentative List, the Sanatorium Zonnestraal. Photos can be seen here.
The Van Nelle Factory and this are the only two that stand a slight chance I guess in the future (assuming that Amsterdam will get in in 2010).

What about new sites? Some media reports:
- The Teylers Museum in Haarlem (a kind of Plantin-Moretus)
- The penal colony Veenhuizen
- Radio Kootwijk (a shortwave and later telegraph transmitter for long distances like the Dutch East Indies)
- Westfriese Omringdijk (126km long dike)
