Country: Trinidad and Tobago
Short description of site (also include multiple locations if applicable): A lake made entirely out of Pitch (tar). it is the largest Pitch Lake in the world. in addition, fossilized remains of animals that have fallen into the lake, have been found.
Criteria (cultural, natural, mixed): Criteria VII, Criteria IX
Outstanding universal value / comparative analysis:. this is the largest and most significant pitch lake in the world. the natural phenomenon of Pitch Lakes is an important aspect of earth's history; it relates to the formation of oil and gas.

this is not on the tentative list- as Trinidad has not yet submitted one.
