http://whc.unesco.org/en/tentativelists/1941/Outstanding universal value / comparative analysis: The remains provide a wonderful and surprisingly well preserved memory of "the most renowned of the world's 19C gold rushes". Dawson City may be a bit "touristy" (though, given its location, nothing in numbers compared with other inscribed sites) but manages to convey a feeling of those times with a mixture of buildings large (including Music Halls and Hotels) and small. there are also plenty of "industrial archaeological" mining remains around the twon. The "Trails"also provide atmospheric remains including poignant cemeteries. None of the other "Gold related" inscribed sites capture this wild frontier atmosphere. A World Class iconic site.
