This topic can be a place to share photos of incredible tentative world heritage sites. The Top 50 missing was a lot of fun, though much of the sites were not on any tentative list. (also interesting) However, this topic is meant to highlight exceptional sites that are found on national tentative lists. I now use Flikr, which is a great site through which to share pictures. Another great site is photobucket. I personally would love to see traveller photos of world class tentative sites, which may be worthwhile to visit in the future.

Rules
- provide a link to view your photos of the TWHS
- please only one site per post, in order to highlight that particular tentative site
- if the site is a serial nomination include photos of more than one of the multiple sites to highlight what the nomination has to offer
- in a short description include the TWHS name, country, criteria, category and date of submission

Scorvegni Chapel
Italy (Europe and North America)
Date of Submission: 01/06/2006
Criteria: (i)(ii)(iii)
Category: Cultural
Reason: This chapel is one of the key works of art from a major turning point in the western tradition; it shows the transition from gothic art to the more natural forms associated with the renaissance.

Sorry my internet connection is very slow, so this is a little limited. You can't take pictures inside the chapel so there is not much I could show via flickr, but here are the reviews on this site which are all exceptionally glowing.

Sorry if it is not in the spirit of the photos of the site but I hope the reviews can add some colour.

I like this idea of the best of the tentative list by the way (especially as I am mapping them it would be good to know which ones to look out for), when I get home I will see if I can trawl through and add a few more. Would certainly second (third?) the FLW nomination.

Though could we perhaps add a quick sentance as well about why they are so good?

Offcourse, please add whatever useful or interesting information that comes to mind! It makes sense to keep a basic format, but added information is always welcome. I have visited quite a few tentative sites, but I am only selecting sites that might be considered exceptional or outstanding. I think the Petrified Forest National Park in Arizona, United States might be considered exceptional. Nevertheless, it feels on the borderline.

This may be the only nominated site in Korea that could be considered truly outstanding. I have only visited one of the six sites that cover much of Korea's southern coast, so I cannot speak of the quality of the entire nomination. However, Suncheon bay tidal flats were extraordinary and beautiful. Beyond this nomination I do not believe South Korea will suceed in inscribing any other natural sites.
