Full name of site: Copper Canyon
Country: Mexico
Short description of site (also include multiple locations if applicable): A series of canyons, that together form the largest canyon system on earth. They are noted for there amazing beauty, and contain some of earth's most spectacular scenery. they also contain Mexico's two highest waterfalls. The canyons are formed of extrusive igneous rock, and contain calcite crystal of quality little matched in the rest of the world.
Criteria (cultural, natural, mixed): VII, VIII
Outstanding universal value / comparative analysis: comparable to canyons all over the world, Copper Canyon is considered by many to be one of the most magnificent and beautiful. The fact that the canyon is comprised of igneous rock, makes it different to most canyons, the world over.
