The site also contains an unarmed Minuteman missile. one of the best preserved missile launch facilities in the U.S.A. the site bears an important testament to a significant event in recent history: the cold war. the site also displays advancements in warfare that affected the entire world.
Criteria (cultural, natural, mixed): I, IV, VI
Outstanding universal value / comparative analysis: There are no comparable sites currently on the WHS list. the site is similar with the Titan Missile Museum in Arizona. However, the site might score more points for being less vulnerable to development because it is under government control, and the Titan site is not.

I really quite like this proposal. I don't know whether it would make the top 50 but it would probably get my vote.

It seems that there are some different and interesting sites turning up now.

there might be a good number of comparable sites not just within america, but in europe (specifically, the former soviet union). this could be a serial nomination, with some american sites reflecting the technological development of america during that period, while the other mainly reflecting the soviet scientific trajectory. so in a cold war allusion, these are indeed meant to represent the two former bitter rivals.

i may have some reservation on the use of criterion i though for creative genius. how can a work related to warfare be a work of genius? then again, we have a precedent in las medulas qualifying for it as a site showcasing the destructive method of mining done in roman times.
