First sites filling gaps cited by ICOMOS
Aegean, Minoan and Mycenaean civilisations

I don't think this literally was a gap: Mycenae was there already and is listed in the document.
But we haven't added the already connected sites very consistently (Ottoman is in there as well, surely not underrepresented).
Needs a bit of thinking and a clearer definition.

Let's put the Etruscan Necropolises to rest.

Connection: Subterranean Cultural Sites

Etruscan Necropolises – Part of the OUV are the wall paintings in the subterranean burial chambers of the Tarquinia necropolis.

Connection: Writing systems

Etruscan Necropolises – Monterozzi Necropolis in Tarquinia: "About 200 painted tombs display murals of various scenes with call-outs and descriptions in Etruscan. Elaborately carved sarcophagi of marble, alabaster, and nenfro include identificatory and achievemental inscriptions." (Wikipedia)

Already existing, but adding or changing rationale

Connection: Necropolises

Etruscan Necropolises – WHS Name: "Etruscan Necropolises of Cerveteri and Tarquinia"

Connection: Tumuli

Etruscan Necropolises – – "The necropolis near Cerveteri (...) contains very different types of tombs", among which "tumuli which often contain more than one tomb". (OUV) – Cerveteri: "Most famous are the tumuli, tombs often containing more than one tomb under an imposing mound." (AB Ev) – "The main necropolis of Tarchuna (...) is the Monterozzi necropolis with some 6,000 tombs, (...) many of which were tumulus tombs with chambers carved in the rock below." (Wikipedia)

The end.

New connection proposal for the Religion and Belief category:

Definition: According to Christian tradition, the True Cross is the real cross on which Jesus of Nazareth was crucified. (Wikipedia)

This connection features WHS that hold a part of the True Cross or a Holy Nail as a relic.

Amiens Cathedral – On May 22, 1533, Bishop François de Halluin placed in a gilded silver reliquary, pieces of the True Cross, relics from the Holy Sepulchre, the table of the Last Supper, Saint Honoré, the apostle Saint Thomas, Saint Acheul, and the dalmatic of Thomas Becket; this reliquary was placed at the top of the spire, below the iron cross. (Wikipedia)

Bamberg – Bamberg Cathedral: "The name "Nagelkapelle" ("Nail chapel") refers to a nail said to come from the True Cross; this nail has been venerated at Bamberg since the 14th century." (Wikipedia)

Medieval Monuments in Kosovo – "Fragments of True Cross in the Serbian Orthodox Monastery of Visoki Decani" (Wikipedia) (Wikimedia)

Mount Athos – Koutloumousiou Monastery "houses a piece of the Holy Cross." (Wikipedia)

Old City of Jerusalem – The Church of the Holy Sepulchre houses the Chapel of the Invention of the Holy Cross, "believed to be the place where the True Cross was found." (Wikipedia) "The Greek Orthodox church presents a small True Cross relic shown in the Greek Treasury within the Church of the Holy Sepulchre at the foot of Golgotha." (Wikipedia)

Paris – The treasury of the Notre-Dame de Paris exhibits the reliquary of a fragment of the Cross of Christ. (Wikipedia) (Wikimedia)

Piazza del Duomo (Pisa) – The Dal Pozzo chapel in the Camposanto houses two fragments of the True Cross. (Wikipedia)

Rome – The Basilica of the Holy Cross in Jerusalem or Basilica di Santa Croce in Gerusalemme holds "part of the Elogium or Titulus Crucis, i.e. the panel which was hung on Christ's Cross (...) and three small wooden pieces of the True Cross." (Wikipedia)

Route of Santiago de Compostela – "The Monastery of Santo Toribio de Liébana (...) holds and venerates part of the Lignum Crucis discovered in Jerusalem by Saint Helena of Constantinople, which is claimed to be the largest piece held." (Wikipedia)

Routes of Santiago de Compostela in France – Relics of the True Cross in the church of Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert. (Nomination file, p. 6) The "A of Charlemagne" in the abbey of Sainte-Foy de Conques contains the titulus of the True Cross. (Wikipedia)

Santiago de Compostela – "In the Chapel of the Reliquary (...) is a gold crucifix, dated 874, containing an alleged piece of the True Cross." (Wikipedia)

Vatican City – "A much larger piece of the True Cross was taken from the Basilica [of the Holy Cross in Jerusalem] on the instructions of Pope Urban VIII in 1629 to St. Peter's Basilica, where it is kept near the colossal statue of St. Empress Helena sculpted by Andrea Bolgi in 1639." (Wikipedia)

Venice – Scuola Grande di San Giovanni Evangelista: "In 1369, Philippe de Mezières (...) gave to the school a piece of the True Cross which it still owns to this day." (Wikipedia)

Vienna – The Imperial Cross, "kept in the Imperial Treasury in the Hofburg", "served as the container for (...) the reliquary of the True Cross in the lower shaft". (Wikipedia)

Oh! It surprises me that we did not have that one already. Two or so are in Religious Relics as well, but given the long list of connected sites you have managed to find, it deserves its own connection.

I must praise the Wiki members who put this page together just within a few days (and it highlights another theft after inscription, in 1998)

New connections for the Rock Carvings in Tanum. They are currently at just 8 connections.

Connection: Cemeteries

Rock Carvings in Tanum – "The integrity and completeness of this area is illustrated in the centrally situated Tanum plain, where rock carving sites occur in zones in the plain's western and north-eastern peripheries. The great majority of known settlements and prehistoric cemeteries are located at the northern and eastern edges of this plain." (OUV) – "The Bronze Age rock carvings of Tanum are located in a rich prehistoric environment, which contains substantial evidence of settlements and cemeteries." (AB Ev)

Connection: Chariots

Rock Carvings in Tanum – "Wagons appear with both two and four wheels. The latter are interpreted as transportation vehicles, while the former is called war chariots and can be seen as expressions of the ambitions of the ruling elite. However, it is unlikely that chariots were used in the hilly landscape of Bohuslän. The presence of chariots on the panels is more likely due to influences from other parts of the world." (Link)

Connection: Cultural landscape not recognized

Rock Carvings in Tanum – "ICOMOS therefore proposes that the whole area should be treated as a cultural landscape, rendered outstanding by the fact that it contains this unique assemblage of Bronze Age rock art." (AB Ev)

Connection: Early Archaeology

Rock Carvings in Tanum – "Systematic studies of the rock carvings began in the 19th century when archaeology emerged as a scientific discipline." (Link)

To be continued...

Maybe because of stolen objects are Asian artifacts, no big media report the Fontainebleau case in 2015, but in my country this was a very big news because one of the stolen objects was a replica of Siamese Crown that King Mongkut or Rama IV (in the King and I) gave to Napoleon III.

The second set of new connections for the Rock Carvings in Tanum.

Connection: Iron Age

Rock Carvings in Tanum – The rock carvings at Vitlycke "were created over a long period during the Bronze- and Iron Ages, possibly spanning up to 1,000 years." – "What sets Litsleby apart is that a significant portion of the images were made during the early Iron Age. (...) The large number of horses on the panel can also be assumed to have been carved during the Iron Age." (Link)

Connection: Isostatic Rebound

Rock Carvings in Tanum – "In the Tanum World Heritage area, there are over 600 known sites with rock carvings. Today, these sites are located a few kilometres inland, but when the carvings were made, many of them were situated directly adjacent to the ancient coastline. Due to post-glacial rebound, these panels are now situated between 9 and 17 meters above sea level." (Link)

Connection: No Buffer Zone

Rock Carvings in Tanum – "No buffer zone has been defined." (OUV)

Connection: North Sea

Rock Carvings in Tanum – "In the Tanum World Heritage area, there are over 600 known sites with rock carvings. Today, these sites are located a few kilometres inland, but when the carvings were made, many of them were situated directly adjacent to the ancient coastline." (Link)

Connection: Copy of WHS
Definition: Site must contain a copy of parts of a 2nd WHS. The copy must be intentional and the reference documented. The scale may differ, but it shouldn't be a model. Inspired by does not count.

Proposed Sites (4):
* Chengde - Potala Palace, Suzhou Gardens.
* Wörlitz - Replica of Iron Bridge George
* Neuschwanenstein - Replica of Throne Room of the Wartburg
* Banks of the Seine - Statue of Liberty copy on Ile aux Cygnes (our core zone map shows this as inscribed).

I am fairly confident that there must be more sites like this, but couldn't come up with more.

* Banks of the Seine - Statue of Liberty copy on Ile aux Cygnes (our core zone map shows this as inscribed).

Our core map shows that part of the Île aux Cygnes is within the WHS, but not the end of the island, where the statue is situated.
