(1587) Walled cities
Xian, China
>> OUT: beautiful example indeed, but unfortunately Xi'an isn't a WHS

1590) Moorish revival
The Yenidze is outside the WHS
>> DOUBT: if I interpret the nomination document of Dresden well, it specifically mentions the Yenidze as being one of the monuments along the Elbe River; any sources that tell otherwise?

Rather strange - nomination files are not always models of clarity/accuracy (The bigger it is the better and "Never mind the quality - feel the width!") and sometimes betray their long gestation period during which matters such as boundaries get changed - such changes are not always fully cascaded through all documentation. The Nomination File indeed makes several references to the Yenidze (which is even on the list of accompanying photos) but the words used are always ambiguous as to whether it is actually included e.g
"The dome of the Yenidze forms, together with the Marien Bridge, the final point of the characteristic Altstadt Elbe river front after the congress centre presently being built. The Yenidze is an industrial building in the form of a mosque and was built with aspects of advertising for a tobacco enterprise from 1907 to 1909."

If you look at the incredibly detailed map on page 128 at 200% magnification the Yenizde building is marked in red (as are all significant buildings) on Weißeritz str just to the west of the Marienbruke and north of the railway line . However the map shows it to be OUTSIDE the core zone designated by a thick green line (albeit inside the buffer zone)!
