I'm quite sure we could come up with a collection of sites that are so boring that they are very likely to cure insomnia. I have 2 and I'm looking for one more to complete the 3.

There is a topic already called "Least Inspiring sites" under "What are they doing all day"

I don't think we could have it as a "Connection" as it isn't exactly factual - but it is certainly interesting to hear different viewpoints about sites. I know you lived in Oman for 2/3 years but I actually found the aflaj systems quite interesting on our short visit there!! Not so much the little park for Daris at the edge of Nizwa but those in the villages where there were the male and female bathing areas (the men got the clean water first and the women had to make do with their dirty water further downstream!) , the sundials where the division of water for the date palm groves was calculated - and of course the different systems themselves. It was a good "entree" to Omani village life - and by asking about the aflaj we were able to strike up conversations with locals about their lives etc in a friendly way. So I remember the Aflaj very positively!
