Tenochtitlan (now Mexico City) is connected with the prophesy about the white skinned god Quetzalcoatlin who had left Mexico in the tenth century and would return from the east to reclaim his authority over the Aztecs. - Moctezuma apparently (or so legend has it) believed Cortez to be that god

But we have a potential overlap with "Folk Legends" - eg the prophesy that if the Ravens leave the Tower of London the tower and monarchy will fall. This is already "connected" with "legends"

Legends can be defined as fictional stories about the past whereas profecies concern the future.
I would add the Biblical tells to the profecies (the battle of Armageddon at the Megiddo).
