I am not sure this is a great thread to start but I was just tootling around and found three sites that are conected by being formerly named after Adolf Hitler.

Holy Trinity Column Olomouc - The square on which it sits, Hlavni Nadrazi, was breifly named Adolf Hitler Platz

Budapest - Korond square? was renamed Adolf Hitler square under the rule of Horthy

Wiemar - Karl August Allee/ Freedom square was also named Adolf Hitler Platz

I would guess there would be more throughout the former third reich. Internet searches can turn up some odd sites researching this one!

I also stumbled across Anophthalmus hitleri which is a beetle named after him. It is found in 5 caves in Slovenia. Škocjan isn't one of them though.

yeah, poor beetle... it is already endangered because of its name... most people collect it as a hitler memorabilia...

Having just come back from there I take this back, it is in fact found in Škocjan, I didn't see any but the website (only the French version for some reason) confirms it.

Ah it seems I mustn't have been having a good day when I first posted on here, the square in Olomouc should be Horní náměstí (Upper Square) rather than Hlavni nadrazi (Main Station).
Sorry about that.

I don't think WHS Weimar can be linked with Hitler, as WHS in Weimar is not inscribed as a whole historic city but a series of monument by just only inscribed park, castle and palaces and sites related to Goethe and Schiller. Karl August Allee is not part of WHS.

Yep, you're quite right, I didn't realise how selective the Weimar inscription is.
