We already have a Imitating Versailles connection, but there are much more WHS that hold monuments that are modelled after other WHS:
- Emperor Gia Long of Vietnam built a palace and fortress that was intended to be a smaller copy of the Chinese Forbidden City in the 1800s. Its ruins are in Hué.
- There's a small version of the Statue of Liberty near the Seine in Paris.

Or WHS that are often dubbed as other WHS:
- Bruges (Venice of the North), Strassburg (petite France), Bamberg (little Venice), Vilnius (Rome of the North) and Riga (Little Paris)

How should we go about these? Lump them in together?

Mountain Resort Chengde is another "modelled after". Most of the "Imitating Versailles" were imitating the concept and general grandeur rather than aiming to be a copy. But there is an overlap here and these 2 aspects could be linked by extending the definition and subsuming the Versailles examples - still naming the original example of course.

On the other hand I always find the examples around the World "dubbed as" pretty unsatisfactory - a couple of canals and what do we have - Venice of course! "Modelled after" implies a degree of conscious imitation at the time of construction rather than a post hoc comparison. If you are going to have this "connection" I wouldn't link it with the former 2 (or 1) examples

I agree with Solivagant that a later comparison shouldn't influence our understanding of how a site was built. These comparisons have long traditions though mainly in Eastern Europe. Another instance by the way is Zamosc (Padua of the North).
