Using this map and the numerous tentative sites, we can begin understanding the ambitious undertaking and scope of inscribing a multi-national serial nomination tentatively titled the "Trans-Atlantic Slave Route".

This is not an exhaustive list, but it does show the sites that could ultimately be included in a transnational nomination. Realistically, this Slave Route nomination would likely proceed in phases. For example: West African Slave Ports (phase I), Trans-Atlantic Slave Route (phase II), Trans-Saharan Slave Route (phase III), Liberation & Abolition (phase IV).
