I start this Forum subject with a link to a report produced by ICOMOS in 2010 in which it reviewed its processes for evaluating nominations and came up with a number of recommendations for improvement - both in the reality and in the perception of how it operates.
The report certainly shows the extent to which ICOMOS is trying to make its evaluation process rigorous, fair, unbiassed culturally, transparent etc etc. But whether it really identified the right issues and whether its recommendations were appropriate/are being carried out we can no doubt discuss in future posts!
Does anyone know of a similar review by IUCN??
