And I finally tackled, after many hours trying different ways, the Dutch Water Defence Lines.

This must be one of the most difficult core zones of all: it has a weird shape across a quarter of the country, several enclaves, many satellite components, some attached to the main zone and others tiny separate components. I ended up with a file of 855kb (disentangled from the NL public dataset), which I then had to resize to about 50kb. This did not go without any loss (the tiny separate components had disappeared), so I had to redraw and add them manually. I also updated the list of components to be on par with those shown at the UNESCO website (they can be just a bridge or a sluice).

To celebrate, I also added some POIs: https://www.worldheritagesite.org/list/dutch-water-defence-lines

Jakob:
there should be also enclaves in Nordfriesland e.g. Amrum, and 3 in Denmark, and only one interesting round enclave (Zuidwal Vulkan?) in the Netherlands

I think the ones in NL and Germany are OK now. The ones in Denmark are not in the Protected Planet file, I will try to add them manually.

I have added a connection No Map: WHS that do not have an official map. To qualify, the Maps section on the WHS' maps page of the UNESCO website must be empty.

Besides that it is generally interesting to know, I think, it will also be helpful to determine the number of WHS that are "core zone mappable" in the end.
Will add them when I see them.

Yesterday's harvest:
Hué by Frédéric M (a real tour de force, a puzzle with 31 parts)
Tehuacán-Cuicatlán Valley (c) Protected Planet resized
Calakmul by Miguel Marquez
Medieval Monuments in Kosovo Els
Studenica Monastery Els
Gulf of California (c) Protected Planet resized
Engelsberg Ironworks Els
Laponian Area (c) Protected Planet resized
Visby Els
Gammelstad Els
Skogskyrkogarden Els
Colonies of Benevolence (c) Rijksdienst Cultureel Erfgoed adjusted

Going down the list of countries to do, I tried my luck at Sweden and Serbia.
Sweden has maps that look OK at first sight, but they are hard to implement as they often lack reference to visual landmarks such as roads. Perhaps someone skilled at overlaying maps can attempt the remaining ones.
Serbia's maps are just poor.

Large set yesterday, we're up to 428 already:
Asturian Monuments by Catoplayer
Palau de la Musica Catalana & Hospital de Sant Pau by Catoplayer
Alcala de Henares by Catoplayer
Benedictine Convent of St. John
Abbey of St Gall
Old City of Berne
Monte San Giorgio (c) Protected Planet
Swiss Tectonic Arena Sardona (c) Protected Planet
Swiss Alps (c) Protected Planet
City of Graz – Historic Centre and Schloss Eggenberg
Historic Centre of the City of Salzburg
Historic Centre of Vienna
Palace and Gardens of Schönbrunn
Fray Bentos Industrial Landscape
Colonia del Sacramento
Church of Atlántida

I looked into Austria and Switzerland. Especially Austria is tricky, with not-so-clear maps and sprawling cultural landscapes. Happy to have Vienna, though. Uruguay's maps were exemplary.

And more:
Su Nuraxi di Barumini by Jakob F.
Roros by Jakob F.
Rock-Hewn Churches of Ivanovo
Thracian tomb of Sveshtari (a little circle!)
Madara Rider
Boyana Church
Srebarna (c) Protected Planet
Pirin National Park (c) Protected Planet resized
Split
Trogir
Euphrasian Basilica in the Historic Centre of Porec
Cathedral of St. James in Sibenik
Plitvice Lakes (c) Protected Planet
Waterton Glacier International Peace Park (c) Protected Planet resized
Tomb of Askia (area bigger than you'd think)
Cliff of Bandiagara (c) Protected Planet adjusted (the second location was missing)

Jakob also submitted Dresden. I think it is fair for the delisted WHS to also have their core zone maps, as long as official maps are available from when they were inscribed. We (ahum, Nan) need to fix something before it to show though, it's on the to do list.

Some mid-size countries that are still mostly uncovered (they may have 1 or 2 done):

Will have a look at Malaysia, Peru and Portugal

Worked mostly on Russia yesterday. Its maps are generally clear and the core zones make sense.

Uvs Nuur Basin (c) Protected Planet
Lena Pillars Nature Park (c) Protected Planet resized
Astronomical Observatories of Kazan Federal University
Kazan Kremlin
Kizhi Pogost
Kremlin and Red Square, Moscow
Ensemble of the Novodevichy Convent
Trinity Sergius Lavra
Sviyazhsk (very small area, only the monastery)
Volcanoes of Kamchatka (c) Protected Planet adjusted (removed an area in the west which isn't on the official map)
Wrangel Island (c) Protected Planet adjusted (this has 2 locations instead of the 1 shown everywhere)
Historical Centre of the City of Yaroslavl
Ayutthaya (larger than you'd think)

I could not make sense of Bolgar. And Kolomenskoye, Western Caucasus and Ferapontov have no official maps.

Yesterday I added
Landscapes of Dauria (c) Protected Planet
Ciudad Universitaria de Caracas
Colonial City of Santo Domingo
National History Park
Antigua Naval Dockyard
Morne Trois Pitons (c) Protected Planet
Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park
Central Sikhote Alin (c) Protected Planet adjusted (I had to add the extension Bikin River Valley Park)

I stranded a bit in Russia. The remaining WHS are either larger serial ones (lot of work for little reward), or larger natural sites. For the latter, I found the Protected Planet ones were often incorrect (such as Golden Mountains of Altai and Lake Baikal).
