Birka and Hovgarden (I used the map in the Mgt Plan of 2024, which shows that only the northern half of Birka is part of the core zone; that also corresponds to the listed core zone size in ha)
Ha Long Bay – Cat Ba (c) Protected Planet
Samarkand (I moved Namazgoh Mosque map + marker to the location shown on Google Maps)

Kenozero Lake CL

Will try to do a couple more today. And then I will be on a 4-week break while I am travelling.
(P.S.: only managed to do Shark Bay, with 3 enclaves)

Upper Harz Water Management System:
The location dot for this part of the WHS is now positioned in the Nationalpark Harz, where actually the system is centered around Clausthal-Zellerfeld, with only very limited extension into the Nationalpark. One can clearly see the various Teichs and Dams on the OpenStreet map. Maybe use the Tourist Information Center in C-Z for the location of the dot? That would be about lat 51.80630230129247, long 10.335550351939023. (Nice map on the UNESCO site, btw)

Coincidentally, JakobF started yesterday with core zone mapping of the Upper Harz area.
It is very detailed and complex, but I am sure he's the one to do it.

I will move the dot for now

I uploaded new maps for the Nord - Pas-de-Calais mining basin with some corrections:

- the château Dampierre (#11) was wrong on the official map, a random block nearby instead of the obvious building in the park;
- the ensemble minier de la Sentinelle (#13) borders were refined;
- the monument commémoratif Charles Mathieu (#19) is now identified correctly, instead of being located at the monument for the fallen (location & zone error on the official map);
- similarly for the monument Émile Basly (#67) in Lens, which was previously on the wrong roundabout (error on the official map)

The previous ones can be deleted (I don't have the permissions to do that).

These were three errors in the official material for what could compete for the messiest WHS of all! I wonder if we will detect others...

Note to self: I need to redo the Sinharaja core zone map. The one from Protected Planet that I incorporated is not precise. I visited this WHS this morning and parts of the main visiting area seem outside the core zone, which they are not (as confirmed by the official map).

We just noticed a lot of the Itlian ones were missing from the upload (they are the only ones not mapped on the official UNESCO site) I will hunt down the missing ones tonight, especially as it includes the cult classic of Fiave.

I have withdrawn this one (from PP) for the moment, it was so poorly done and does not match our requirement of "functionally correct".
Will make a better one though it is hard
