Did some Getbol sites.
* Gochang and Suncheon zones offer ample tourist options. Gochang probably has the richer experience with 3 visitor centres lined up.
* Boseong in Suncheon meanwhile is pretty empty.
* Seocheon and Shinan ... Found nothing. Shinan is the largest zone with plenty of islands. There must be PoIs here.

nfmungard:
Shinan is the largest zone with plenty of islands.

I recently visited the Shinan component. I think there are 2 points of interest:

Purple Island (a series of purple bridges that connect 2 small islands with the road linked Shinan Island chain (Bakjido, Banwoldo)

34.71088, 126.11876 (Purple Bridge)

Essentially 'Purple Island' is one of the only areas in Shinan easily reached from Gwangju or Mokpo by affordable tourist buses seen here. The purple moniker is really a kind of thematic, picturesque idea promoted by local government and residents to attract visitors. The reality is despite the charm and beauty of numerous Korean small islands and getbol areas, they can be some of the most remote, rural communities with few accessible public transportation options. Therefore, this local initiative which painted roads, bridges, houses, and coffee shops purple juxtaposed with the islands and getbol have marketed themselves as the place to visit in the region. Soon, I will either write a new review or update my review for the Getbol WHS and a whole other trip (component) to cover the Getbol extension.

Secondly, Jeongdo Island is filled with POI's. I will focus on Jjangttungeo Bridge and Hwado Nodu-gil, which are great locations for road-trip stops and bicyclist routes. While I did not end up visiting here, public transportation was just too spotty and even after arriving by bus you would need to utilize a taxi (and from our understanding there are only 2 taxi drivers in Jeonggdo and the adjacent island(s) total. So, for this trip we simply chose the easier option (Purple Island) and noted that Jeongdo will wait for the next road trip in the region (sometime in the future)! Jeongdo would be a less touristy experience and on the way there is an ecological center for the Muan Getbol (extension), which will undoubtably be inscribed in 2026. Jeongdo also has one of the Saltern components (TWHS), but all indicators seem to point toward this nomination being dropped from the next tentative list.

34.99363, 126.13757 (Jjangttungeo Bridge)
34.96416, 12616510 (Hwado Nodu-gil)

Cool, great work. I will eventually examine some other potential POI's in the countries I know best (Korea and U.S.).

One note on this. Quinault Rain Forest Trailhead shoul be marked as outside the core zone. Quinault is a bit confusing. This trail is the most popular in Quinault and worth mentioning, but localy managed and not in the National Park nor in the WHS. Maple Glade Rain Forest Trailhead (47.50518752580695, -123.82160183086674) is the NPS trail in Quinault. Also very nice and could be added.

Updated. In/Outside of core zone will be visible as soon as we have core zones.

Side note: I doubt someone makes it to Quinault without entering the core zone on the way there.

Thanks to Frederic M, POIs have been added to the following Canadian WHS:
Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump
L'Anse aux Meadows National Historic Site
Landscape of Grand Pré
Old Town Lunenburg
Red Bay Basque Whaling Station
Writing-on-Stone / Áísínai'pi
Gros Morne
Joggins Fossil Cliffs
Miguasha National Park
Mistaken Point

Look at Gros Morne NP, for example, a wonderful park.

I have tried adding core zones as well, but that was not easy. The Canadians like to follow rivers, leading to overly complicated maps of even Anticosti and Writing-on-Stone. Have managed to cover Red Bay and Gros Morne though. And Lunenburg as well, although they found a need to display every single pier on the map.

Sansa, Buddhist Mountain Monasteries Points of Interest

Buseoksa Temple - Muryangsujeon Hall is the second oldest wooden building in Korea (1376) - Korea Heritage Service

*Note: The 2nd oldest is perhaps misleading, its really the oldest significant wooden building in Korea and a national treasure.

36.998978, 128.687493

Beopjusa Temple - Palsangjeon Wooden Pagoda is the only wooden pagoda in Korea, which was built before the modern period and still stands. - Korea Heritage Service

36.542028, 127.833455

Tongdosa Temple - Daeungjeon Hall and Geumgang Ordination Platform preserves the sarira of Buddha. - Korea Heritage Service

35.487955, 129.063735

Royal Tombs of the Joseon Dynasty Points of Interest

Yeongneung Cluster (Yeoju) - Tomb Keeper's House at Nyeongneung represents important aspects of Joseon royal graveyard architecture. It has been preserved successfully unlike comparable facilities on most other royal tombs of the Joseon Dynasty. - Korea Heritage Service

*Note: Certainly the best preserved tomb-keeper's house amongst all Joseon tombs, includes a nationally protected tree that is about the same age of the building (1673).

37.311174, 127.610285

Donggureung Cluster (Guri) - Gyeongneung Royal Tomb has three burial mounds for each of three royals lying side by side – the only example of this type among the royal tombs of Joseon. - Korea Heritage Service

37.618623, 127.127242

Heolleung Cluster (Seoul) - Heolleung Royal Tomb (burial area) appears grander than most of the other royal tombs of Joseon as there are twice as many funerary stones (stone statues of civil and military officials, horses, rams and tigers) than usual. - Korea Heritage Service

*Note: Largest Joseon tomb burial mound, viewing area is close, providing easy access for photographing the funerary stones and tumuli.

I noticed that the core zone is fully mapped on the UNESCO webpage. Can you extract data there and use it?

Copyright topics. Unesco is very particular. And: They tend to be too precise. We need simple core zones as otherwise the data volume spikes and the performance suffers.
