On performance issues:
* We have caching in place, but i havent yet implemented a smart strategy for refreshes so the cache time out (TTL) is very low. This causes, especially on the large pages performance issues.
* If you want to know the performance with cache, reload the page a second time. That def. will come from the scan and as far as I can tell is fast even for the large pages.
* Small hack: You can also reset the cache by republishing your page, e.g. your user page.
* Unfortunately, fully proper caching is 2nd to protecting us from scans and bots. But it should be there soon.

Please don't hate me. I got that I had to sbmit my review, even if it was only a revision. In aprticular, I added photos. Now, most of them sit there well, but there is one foto that I put as "background" that appears in a tiny format, in a corner, before the real first picture of the review.

We will remove that - only new reviews need approval

Hello,
At the risk of sounding negative, the new "visits" section is quite horrendous.
First of it should mention which part is optional. I don't want to give it a random name like some users do just to update. I get the idea and I will use it for visits just updates I don't plan on.
Second, finding a site takes forever. The is mainly for mobile maybe but having to redo all searches over and over again is a pain in the @ss. You have the sites called what you like, e.g. Congonhas, even though the site is for the Bom Jesus church only and thus named as such. This isn't a problem for Brasília so much. It also has listed everything including former tentatives...? This makes everything super clunky. I miss the checkboxes and at the risk of sounding lazy : those were better. I would recommend a "load tentatives too" option or something, being able to go through the entire list if they would want to. In the end I just searched for "Brazil" and scrolled to find my selections. "Oh so THAT'S what it's called here". Now I don't know if I'm missing something from my Brazil trip which was easy to see before.

This general finding is addressed by others as well, although you have added some list searching troubles, which we will take into account.

In general, it depends on how you used to do it before. Some did it one by one, others did it as a whole after a trip. For the latter group, the current solution is perfect. I go on a trip to Kenya, visit 6 WHS and 1 TWHS, add a visit called "Kenya Trip 2025" and add all in one go. Both counts are updated.

As stated earlier in this topic, we will bring back a more countdown-type list to satisfy the first group of members who now feel lost.
So, for the overall solution, we will provide two ways to do it.

We have always used what we call "shortened site names" at this website, nothing has changed here. It is because some full site names sometimes are extraordinarily long. You are right about the individual case of Congonhas - I have changed its short name.

I've noticed my tentative total is lower on the new site. I believe multinational tents now seem to count as a single entry. Verifying this is tricky with the current interface. It would be good if we can bring back the country-by-country tick list from the previous version.

Yes. That is due to several factors, one of these indeed is the different approach to nominated sites. Another one is stated in the first message in this topic:
elsslots:
- A handful tentative sites have either not come through or are double; we will add them separately asap.

You don't have to compare it yourself; we are doing this already on an overall level. Please give us some time to do so.

I very much agree on this. Only thing: we can select only a date. Is there the possibility to add a whole period, with a starting and an ending date? Personally, I am not interested in pinpointing the exact day of each visit. Thanks a lot!

I agree on adding a buch but adding is currently very annoying. It's totally ok if you pick your own site name (which are often better) but it makes it harder to find because I have to "guess" what you called in instead. Once I'm on the add page I should not need to do that kind of guess work (again because the search box is limited and shows me EVERYTHING in that country).

Unrated at the bottom... where? I don't see anything to rate and the individual site doesn't let me rate either. The FAQ says it's implemented?

The visits feature has me pondering, would it be possible to log transnational sites on a by-country basis? I'm planning a trip to Gracehill next month for one of their open tours, but I'd rather not have a sole outlier in the US on my profile map whenever I log it.

yes -> backlog. and yes, i use them for full trips too.

Type France. And that should narrow it down. Or simply open a 2nd page to see what site you want to select.
The old mask was buggy as hell.

Elena

Idea is to select actual locations. ;) But seeing Zoe already complaining about having to scroll all sites in France, location selection mandates making a site preselection. It's on my backlog.

Side note: Current implementation is the past location.

To filter for all inscribed sites in France type this:
inscribed: france

Same can be figured out for all other types of status.

So is this a bug? I can't see unrated sites. I also recommend splitting this into "rated" and "unrated" pages because I don't want to load up a huge list of sites each time. If not then have a link "go to unrated" next to the part that says "unrated at the bottom". Jumping down is better than scrolling (especially on mobile).

I have the suggestion to add a filter that is saved per user for "filter inscribed, tentative, former" it would remove so many hits already
