This is an update about the things we are working on at the moment, and in which order.
The main topic at the moment is the
redesign of the Maps. This is in order to add new functionality, such as user-steered filtering by type of site (so the maps will look less cluttered), and also to (hopefully) get rid of the 403 errors that are now displayed because of overusage. Progress is good here and we hope to show it via the Country Maps soon.
Analysis has also been done on improving the usability of the
visit checklist, which may be the next big topic to tackle after the maps.
Also, we are aware of the following known issues. So you don't need to report them; they will be part of a bug fix release when we schedule one. Workarounds are given after ->.
· Comments (on reviews or blog posts) that contain the words 'time' or 'eval' (as in 'primeval', 'medieval') are blocked by the firewall -> rephrase your comment by using synonyms, or slightly change the word (t.ime instead of time)
· Individual TWHS rating does not show correctly on homepage and on review index page (always thumbs down) -> the site pages and the individual review pages show it correctly
· Country Index: countries between and Bhutan and Finland do not show on initial load -> sort in a different order, or find the country via the main search
· Site Page Gallery: photo owner name shown twice on some occasions -> all names in photo titles (like 'by Astraftis ') have now been removed, where it still shows is a sign of a programming bug
· Recently added images are not being shown in the map pop-ups since about 3 weeks -> if you want to check if your image has been used: the images are visible in the galleries
· CMS Upload GeoJSON: file size limit has been set that is too strict -> cut the geojson into smaller parts
· Recent Connections list no longer shows newest connections first on site pages
