We have just migrated the website to 2.0!

If you see a very unfamiliar homepage at https://www.worldheritagesite.org, this means that your provider has found the new website (this may take hours to take effect around the globe).

If not, wait until that moment to continue reading this post

In this week's blog post, 'Proudly Presenting,' you can read all about the Why and How of this move.

As it was a complex operation, introducing new techniques and touching an enormous amount of content, you may still run into some errors during the first days. Please report them here so we can fix them.

But first, before you do or say anything: READ THE FAQ

Then:
- Only add Bugs in this topic, things that don't work or could be seriously improved.
- Be respectful towards the people who have spent so many hours making the migration possible.

If you have a very specific issue or need to send a screenshot, email it to bugs@worldheritagesite.org

Known errors that we are working on to resolve in the coming days:
- There are visitor counts not yet loaded for some tentative sites that have previously been nominated (and thus are missing in your total twhs count).
- Some banner photos have to be adjusted so they show nicely in a narrow landscape layout
- Community Perspectives on the site pages: the links to the reviews have to be replaced.
- Some photos (about 1%, mostly in the banner) have the wrong attribution to an owner. We know which.
- Some photos you've sent me and some core zones maps that we already have still have to be uploaded.
- A handful tentative sites have either not come through or are double; we will add them separately asap.

* Adding a review comment gives an error at the moment, but the comment is posted and shown on the page.

Please try again. It should work; a few dozen people have managed to do so already. Please note that you will need to reset your password first, as the old one is no longer valid (see the FAQ).

* When editing one of your own reviews, it asks for it to be sent to a moderator. We will remove this, so you can directly update. Only new reviews need moderator approval.

* We get some questions from people who'd like to share photos to be publicized on the website (preferrably to fill up some empty blocks of course). I will get back to you & the general community in a day or two how we are going to handle that.

* Also, some extra clarification for Counting Your Visits (menu option Your Visits): this is radically different from how we did it before, so it may take a moment to get used to it. But the implementation is more versatile and more robust than we had earlier:
- There is no difference anymore between WHS and TWHS; they are all in one list. This also means that when a TWHS you ticked becomes a WHS later in its lifecycle (at a WHC), your count will automatically be updated accordingly. The only thing you need to be aware of is whether the site's inscription came with limitations, such as excluding a location that happens to be the one you visited earlier.
- You can freely cluster the visited sites into groups and add the date when you visited them (for example: "Indian Ocean trip 2025"). We tried to cluster the historic ones for you already, but you can alter these dates and groups yourself.
- You can also log revisits in these clusters, although of course this will have no impact on your total count.

Some people now miss the "counting down" aspect. We have put this on our backlog to see how we can meet this request at a later stage.

* There's an issue at this moment with the password reset e-mail. If you need it (to login for the first time in the new system for example), try again tomorrow. I will announce here when it is available again. ** SOLVED **

* Some people regret the disappearance of the overview of the latest reviews (other than the last 4). It was handy when you missed a few over the last days. -> The idea is/was to add the more 'special' reviews in the featured items block below, but I understand that reviews come and go so fast that it is hard to keep track. Will put the page on the backlog again.

This is great but I feel that some list view, as an overview and a help to retrace the visits by country, might be needed.

About pictures: I see that there are duplicates. How is that? And which should I remove?

There are duplicates because during the loading both the smaller and the larger versions got captured. The smaller versions should be removed preferably, but don't remove anything for now since they may still be attached to a page. I am in the process of replacing those with the bigger ones (since they looks so much better).

Resetting the password should work again.

Sorry for all the connection issues. We are dealing with bots and scans and the like and that requires tinkering quite a lot with the webserver settings to make it all work.

Feature pipeline:
* Visits per country to be added to the visit off canvas of each user.
* Recent reviews to be added as off canvas on homepage.

Both will have to wait a bit though as (see above) I am spending my days configuring a WAF.

Still having trouble here... I'm now able to reset my password, but when I go to use it (the new password) I'm told it doesn't work.
