jonathanfr:
because the access path is particularly difficult. I am thinking, for example, of the churches in Tigray if they are ever listed.
Thinking about churches in Tigray, I think that a very common problem for many are
heights. I am always asking about this and unfortunately I had a hard time sometimes. So a word or two about that angle could be useful. I am thinking of tsingys in madagascar, or possibly also towers, belforts... a note for all those places where the height aspect is unavoidable to enjoy or access it.
A thing I wanted to include in my next reviews is what you can get if
you are late. Or from a slightly different perspective: if for any reason I have
little time and/or I am beyond opening times, does it still make sense to go to that site? For example: funerary WWI sites are always open and accessible (but a couple of monuments), so no problem; but don't go to Pompei if you have just a couple hours, then Herculaneum, or Villa Poppea, would be the better choice, if any; Urnes stavkirke can still be admired and enjoyed even without entering (if you can reach it).
Maybe this is more sensible than giving visiting times, as they vary so much among us. There are people in this community claiming that half an hour is enough in places where I spent 3 hours, for example. I could at most suggest a system leaving times indefinite, more like: short visit, longer visit (half a day?), long (full day?), more than a day and more.
Highlighting the hotspot connection would be nice.
