One of the challenges about transnational properties is that they count for all countries they are part of, regardless of which component was visited. So I have completed Moldova without even stepping foot in the country by virtue of visiting a Struve site in Norway. Not sure if this is something that is really an issue for other community members or not, and I'm not sure there is an easy solution without somehow coming up with a way to check off which components of a transnational property have been visited.

I think the situation you describe is very rare - it only applies to countries where their only WHS is a serial transnational site. At first glance at this overview, there seem to be no other countries. Only solution would be to give Moldova another WHS!

Oh, there are some Transboundaries only as well:
Togo, Lesotho, Guinea, Zambia, N Macedonia

For Togo, I think most people until recently only visited the part in Togo since it was inscribed first. Same for N Macedonia.
For Zambia, most people will visit both sides of the Falls
For Lesotho, many but certainly not all will have visited the Drakensberg Mts via the Sani Pass as well into Lesotho.
For Guinea, the only reviewer so far indeed saw Mt Nimba from the Guinean side

I can think of few things more soul-destroying than to be listed as having completed a country, only to then be demoted from that list by the Committee inscribing some terribly dull-sounding new site that you really, really can't be bothered travelling all the way to see.

I wonder how many members are on track to 'lose' a completed country in the next month?

I've now also implemented 'the other way around' - so By User, which Countries do they have Complete?
For example: https://www.worldheritagesite.org/community/Thomas+Buechler#countriescomplete

(will try to add a total number as well somewhere)

I like the completed country lists on the user pages! I did notice that there are error messages when selecting country pages with two or more words in the name, though (ie, Antigua and Barbuda, Domincan Republic, United Arab Emirates). Could it be the space between the words that is causing an issue?

Yes, I did it a bit quick and dirty. Fixed.

Maybe we could have "Community Statistics" by categories. So we would see who are the hunters and specialists of deserts, caves, glaciers... and who manages to complete them.

I've looked into this before. This doesn't give any special results - the top 10 people have the most in each category.

I finally found out how to properly use the Ranking function in MySQL. So the Community Page now shows the correct ranking where people have the same totals (Szucs Tamas and Stanislaw Warwas share the #10 position for example). This rank has also been included in the individual user pages.

I still see some weird numbering down the list, probably has to do with invalid users, need to check -> fixed

This is in reply to a request by Wojciech in the comments on this week's blog post.
The "Top travellers to obscure WHS" (visited by less than 25 members) doesn't do much (= similar to the general ranking).

Order;Name - PositionWHS - count obscure
1;Zoë Sheng - 1 - 61
2;Thomas Buechler - 3 - 60
3;Roman Bruehwiler - 7 - 55
4;Atila Ege - 2 - 53
5;Nihal Ege - 5 - 51
6;Els Slots - 4 - 50
7;Iain Jackson - 6 - 49
8;Solivagant - 9 - 49
9;Luis Filipe Gaspar - 8 - 47
10;Sergio Arjona - 26 - 45
11;SHIHE HUANG - 18 - 45
12;Judith Tanner - 13 - 44
13;Szucs Tamas - 11 - 44
14;Thomas van der Walt - 16 - 44
15;Erik Jelinek - 32 - 43
16;Roger Ourset - 14 - 42
17;Stanislaw Warwas - 10 - 42
18;Harry Mitsidis - 20 - 41
19;Jarek Pokrzywnicki - 19 - 41
20;Alexander Lehmann - 15 - 40

Even when you choose "less than 15" there isn't much difference from the general rankings, with also Erik Jelinek and Sergio Arjona doing better than in the overall score.

You can see which sites are included in obscure here for WHS and here for TWHS (do a manual sort ascending).
For essential TWHS I used this ranking (sort by 100% and then Votes 5+)

Thanks Els.

Note that on TWHS masters page ranking of obscure TWHS refers to those with 100% recommendation. This is clearly a mistake to be fixed.

I've added a small "statistic" to each of the member profile pages: 'Best Missing'.

It shows the 10 best-rated sites that the member has NOT visited. So, it's kind of a wish list! Only sites that have had more than 20 visitors overall are included, to ensure that the sites are accessible and not too obscure.

Some remarkable findings: Zoë misses Lalibela, Atila Ilulissat, Thomas Rapa Nui, Els Yellowstone, Roman Angkor(!), Luis Filipe Nemrut Dag, Solivagant (and many others) Socotra, Tamas, Stanislaw, Wojciech and Randi also Rapa Nui, Eva Taj Mahal(!) etc etc
