Most of the WHSs for which we have links to news reports are well known ones. Since most of us come from Western countries and read Western news most of the WHSs in the 3rd world as well as the lesser known sites from the Western world remain outside.
I would like to suggest that we divide the labour similar to what we did with the official websites. Each volunteer can then look for news reports (also from the past!) that can be linked to the website. I would like to start with Argentina.

I would like to have more worthwhile links for individual WHS. However, I don't think adding "old" news would be the solution. The site is technically not designed that way at the moment, and "new" news is more interesting anyway.

I would prefer to have links to subsites, as has been done here: http://www.worldheritagesite.org/sites/parisseine.html (links displaying Notre Dame, Grand Palais etc).

Is it possible to produce some lists of WHS
a. With no "news" links" or else showing last dated link (which in effect highlights those with no news). Agree it isn't worth adding very old news links - but even something 3 or 4 years old for a site with no other news shows what the last "issue" was
b. With no links.

Rather than trawling through alphabetically this provides a stimulus/challenge if one has some spare time, or a particular interest in an individual site, rather than just "wilfing"!

Found these links for Konso (You might consider the latter to be "official")
http://www.christensenfund.org/experience/#/experience-3473 - nice video
http://konsoculturalcentre.org/

Another thought i had were links to Flikr or YouTube for stills/movies - but the quality is very variable and how long are they going to stay available? I am surprised sometimes how many of the links we already have are "dead" when one tries them.

The news links are not programmed that way at the moment, the date mentioned is the date that I add them to the website. So old "news" would get a wrong timestamp. We'd better go and find proper "new" news instead!

Here's the overview of sites without general links (except for the 1 official link):

You can add your suggestions for additional ones in this Forum topic..

I'm very fond of the Schätze der Welt 15 minute video's, have you seen them?

Schätze der Welt 15 minute video's

Yes, they're on German TV all the time. They're really excellent.

BTW: for those who happen to be in Frankfurt: the DAM (Deutsches Architektur-Museum) currently has an exhibition on the German World Heritage Sites. (Conveniently, Dresden is fully omitted from the exhibition).

Sure. Would also be nice to have the links covering the separate locations, in the Quebrada f.e. Humahuaca, Purmamarca etc (like in the Paris example)
