Thank you, Solivagant!
Indeed, the 1-2-3 in the sidebar probably does not relate to the number of locations.
I will follow your proposal and add yours as "Community Identified Locations"

I am completely "lost" as to what has "happened" to locations and have failed to find them since the new site......and "given up" whilst problems get sorted.....where are they? They used to be so "up front" and is "community identified locations" a new concept or a continuation of the flag we once were going to have (??) when we first started doing coordinates many years ago to show where we had identified the Coordinates rarther than any official UNESCO set

They are listed in the Legend below the Full Screen Map on the site's page, but they should be presented better. Is on the to do list

It is the continuation / implementation of that kind of flag. You can see it when you click on the location on the map, it shows a field Location type.

mmm... once one knows that one has to click on "Full Screen Map" to get to the list of Locations one will of course rmember it .... but it isn't exaclty "intutitive" for a newbie! Why not simply change the title of that button to something along the lines of "Full Screen Map and Location List"

I don't know about the use of the word "legend" in relation to a map in languages other than English but to me it means "a table or list that explains the symbols, colors, and other visual elements used on a map. It helps users understand and interpret the map by providing definitions for these symbols.". Which is not in fact what we get? I still don't really understand the difference between a dark blue portico and a light blue one- Legend doesn't in this case tell me.

And what is the purpose of the clickable trianlge to the Right of "Links UNESCO"? As far as i can see it just takes me back to the same page and to get the UNESCO link one has to click on "explore more"

Regarding the "type" of location. I note regarding "Asante Traditional Buildings" for instance that there are 7 "official UNESCO locations" when in fact not a single one of them is such - we had to identify them all and even then only as a part of the total

Yes, of course. But in the past, I could only log one type of location. Only now can I change them to other types. I will go through the list captured in the connection Incorrect UNESCO Number of Locations as there will be some hints there.

Need help with another one from Yemen (the last one):
https://whc.unesco.org/en/tentativelists/6864/
The Historic Fortifications of Hudayyedah

Here, they have used a creative coordinate system that I have not been able to decipher. It may be UTM, but then it is not fully complete.
Anyway, I have been able to find most locations just by Googling the name, except for:
3 Al-Duhy Fortress
6 Western Fortress
7 Southeastern Fortress

More hints are on the UNESCO site page as listed above.

These are UTM coordinates, but the zone is missing: 38P

The decimal coordinates are:
3 Al-Duhy Fortress 15.21576 N 43.07279 E
6 Western Fortress 15.67570 N 42.81276 E
7 Southeastern Fortress 15.67063 N 42.81816 E

The value of having native speakers from many different languages in the community is that they can dig up treasures that are hidden to searches in English.

Thanks to Eva for finding this Hungarian government decree from 2025, which lists all the country's TWHS including components and coordinates.
https://net.jogtar.hu/jogszabaly?docid=a1500027.mvm

Among them is the elusive "The Network of Rural Heritage Buildings in Hungary", for which we had 1 poor location so far (the official description is of no help). It turns out it has 108!

There are tents that are not showing up on the map such as Francke foundation building in Germany, and there are tents that are marked with two dark gray icons instead of one on the map such as Ma'in in Yemen.

Fixed! You may need to reload the page to see it

Lok-Batan Mud Cone

The location for this site is slightly too far north. OpenStreetMap has a nice "volcano" area and the location for "lokbatan" inscribed too. I can also confirm I was at this exact location.

Funnily, the official location at the UNESCO website is somewhere else altogether, on the other side of the city: 40.34691760754453, 49.764227257249075

I have moved it to "your" location

Astraftis:
Tronçon Bavay-Tongres de la chaussée romaine Boulogne-Cologne
elsslots:
Thanks, Astraftis! I've added a bunch.

I really became aware of the new dots on the map with the WH collect app. Now, I know that many will think that all this attention, time and energy could be spent on better things than a hopeless TWHS, but I have to make some notes:

- the tumulus de Pépin in Landen is way off the road and is Medieval (still an interesting place, though)
- the tumulus de Glimes is also far from the road
- the tumulus d'Avernas is actually the trou de Billemont, but this is also in a completely different region

I would add the tumuli du soleil even if they are also in a dot-rich region. Many other points could be added and maybe I can take a better look ata publication I have, but the fact is that most of the time there is nothing to see (excavations are covered again or anyway not accessible).

Update:

OK, we could add the site of the castellum at Liberchies, here, (also see here), where apparently something more than nothing can be guessed at. It's also a "Patrimoine exceptionnel de Wallonie". With this I think that the layout of the chaussée is decently represented on the map.

I know this might not soumd so exciting, but could it be fixed as suggested? So at least not to confuse TWHS hunters to much :-)

Better like this? https://www.worldheritagesite.org/tentative/le-troncon-bavay-tongres-de-la-chaussee-romaine-bo/
Maybe we should also remove the museum in Tongres (or transform it into a POI): it's in Limburg province, which is not among the provinces listed on the official page (Province de Hainaut, Province de Brabant wallon, Province de Namur, Province de Liège)
