Rock Art of the Mediterranean Basin on the Iberian Peninsula

Hello,
In a few weeks, I will be driving along the east coast of Spain from the Costa Brava to Valencia and then further down to Alicante and Murcia.
And while I am not particularly excited about this "Rock Art of the Mediterranean Basin on the Iberian Peninsula" site, it would be almost unforgivable to drive around this region where there are so many locations and not cross out this WHS.
I just wonder if you have any advice about which sites would be most appropriate, in terms of:
- accessibility (avoiding long hikes if possible)
- signage (nicer if the site if properly indicated from the main roads and easy to find)
- location (as close as possible to the main coast roads. I will be spending a few days in Alicante, so any site in this region and the Costa Blanca would be great)
- interest (obviously, most of the sites seem to be merely undistinguishable strokes and are not very exciting. Any of the 'nicer' locations would be nice)

Looking at the Unesco file of sites in the Valencia Community, almost all 'paintings' are quite unimpressive, except perhaps the 'Cueva de las Aranas del Carabassi'. Any advice on that one or others?

And incidentally, I have noticed that the Unesco site has changed its map, which now only offers 'Satellite' and 'Relief' format, no longer the 'Road' format where we could at least get the place names. This makes it almost impossible to locate any place. In particular, many sites of this seem to be misplaced, as there are a handful of places which are marked in the sea, off the coast of Alicante... Am I missing something?

An option might be Tirig, with the Cova dels Cavalls It has a visitor center/museum.

I haven't been there myself, so maybe somebody else can add suggestions.

Photos of one of their tours: quite a bit of walking it seems, http://andacontiocanya.blogspot.com.es/2014/06/valltorta-cova-del-cavall.html

I noticed that myself the other day, I thought it may have just been a glitch on my computer, but it seems not rather frustrating.

Here is a standard Google map with them on if it is any use to you, it is from UNESCO's own file so will share the same issues in regards to location errors or quirks.

Alas I can't offer any info on a site visit. I have been to the view point at Cap de Sant Antoni (between Denia and Javier) where there are supposedly 2 sites, but I saw no hint of them at all.

Having recently failed to visit the Rock Art sites North of Valencia near Sagunt, a simple question: What are working locations for this?

Working = No geo caching! I want a trail plus signposting.

Pinares de Rodeno has a small road through the forest, parking lots are marked but basically just parking on the side of the gravel road is fine too, and signs to point out rock art. It wasn't spectacular but exactly what I expected. Requires walking on a real trail for maybe 20min to see it.

I recently visited Valltorta near Tirig. It is probably the center of this WHS, as there is a museum dedicated to the rock art. But even if you are there you need a guide to see the sites. They have 3 tours (10:30, 12:00, 16:30) to see 3 different locations. These are the only 3 locations in this area out of the dozens marked on the map that you can actually see there. It was pure luck that we arrived just 11:50 to join the 12:00 tour to Cova dels Cavalls. Tours are free btw. The Cova is protected by a fence and door. no chance to see it without someone opening the door. I talked to the guide about this and he mentioned that they actually don't want these sites to be found by individual travellers. Most of them are not protected by a fence and they fear people could damage them (as they did heavily with Cova dels Cavalls before the government stepped in). Maybe we should start a collection of sites that are meant to be visited.

Studying up on our map:

* Cueva de la Ara => Name cut off (Arana)
Has a visitor center. May require reservations (via form). Page is pretty bad.
https://www.ecomuseodebicorp.com/

* Barranc de la falaguera => Trail is on wikiloc. But site is North of Valencia, not South.

* Covacha Picayo
* Covacha del Barranc del Diable Sagunto => Think this is misplaced. Should be near Sagunto.

* La cueva del Pe => La cueva del Peñón de Santo Espíritu de Gilet (Correct naming)

* Abric de Lambert de Cullera => requires appointment (phone). Seems straightforward.

* Cova de la Petxina => Not Cove X, but town place cut off (Xàtiva)

Name cut off

I've fixed this and dozens of others with the same problem among the 758 locations
