In my upcoming trip to Mexico/Yucatan I'd like to visit one or more cenotes, as in the TWHS Ring of cenotes of Chicxulub Crater, Yucatan

The description mentions that the nomination includes 99 cenotes. They are supposed to be named in an annex to the nomination, but I cannot find it. Does anybody know which cenotes are part of this T-site?

I don't know the details of the 99 but in my opinion, the most photogenic cenotes are

CENOTE AZUL
CENOTE XKEKEN
IK KIL

Apparently the cenotes are all over Yucatan, but there will be only a subset nominated.
At least 24 out of the 99 come from the region around Cuzama.

Cenote Xkeken and Ik Kil are much further away from the crater impact, and Cenote Azul is even on the other (Caribbean) side of Yucatan. I think they're excluded

They have their indigenous names here, so I have not been able to match them with the ones mentioned above.

P.S.: it seems the better known ones around Yucatan aren't included

Just to say I found this map file which purports to be of the Cenotes. It looks to be the information you found on the Ramsar site. Oddly they don't seem to match up with what I would expect cenotes to look like on Google Earth i.e. watery holes/ pond like things, but perhaps I am missing something obvious.

The most promising area interms of visible circular watery holes seems to be the patch South East of Merida in the triangle of roads between Uman, Muna and Maxcanu, though the red circles of the Ramsar Map don't seem to correlate to the water on satellite views.

I've just been reading your first batch of reviews on your Dutch blog. Very enjoyable, though the cost of photos at Casa Barragan seem astounding.

Maybe I missed it but you don't seem to have Camino Real on your WHS that you will see list. Just checking that you know Mexico City, Queretaro, San Miguel & Guanjuato are all part of it, and that there are a few more non double inscribed buildings in the area that could seperatly tick it off.

No worries if you already knew this, but thought I would make sure just in case. I wouldn't want you missing out on a 17th!! WHS on the trip.

I knew. I had already counted it as a visit during my previous trip to Mexico.
Am now in Queretaro, and am already getting behind schedule!
Will probably skip San Miguel de Allende and/or Morelia, in favour to have more time in the Sierra Gorda and also to relax a bit.

Well, I didn't find time to check out those mentioned in the Ramsar-list of 99.
It would have been a total gamble, I had no idea where to go and "hit" it. There are cenotes all over Yucatan, and the names in the list are confusing to say the the least.

Maybe if someone wants to try: on the highway between Campeche and Merida there's a town named Chochola (easy to remember, there's also another town in this area called "Cacao"). Chochola features with 5 cenotes in the Ramsar list, and there is a cenote in Chochola signposted from the highway. Like so many of the other cenotes, it has an attached restaurant and probably has been turned into a public swimming pool.
If this TWHS ever comes up for discussion, I wonder how they handle the commercialization of the cenotes. I went to Ik Kil for example, and although it really is an impressive example the crowds totally turned me off.
