From tripadvisor, it is confirmed that the news report below is true that WHS Bahla Fort, Oman had opened its doors to the public after a 25+ year restoration project, but the fort has only limited operating hours: Thursdays from 8:00-4:00 and Fridays from 8:00-11:30 a.m.

That is good news. Muscat has been on my radar as an interesting stop over en-route from Europe to South East Asia/ Australasia so this is yet another reason to keep it in mind.
