I was just wondering which cities are peoples favourites.
Sometimes looking at World Heritgae Site reviews you can't see which cities really stand out as destinations in their own right.

My own personal favourite is Barcelona.
As a destination I would put this a Europe's finest, it has everything; a fair bit of history, good weather, beaches, astounding architecture, a great sporting heritage and my personal favourite a dense cluster of pedestrianised streets jam packed with cafes and bars.

I always enjoy places where the heart of the city is free from cars, or their presence is not significant. This is perhaps why I don't seem to be as enraptured with really big cities (e.g. London, Paris), and prefer the smaller ones (e.g. Brighton, Avignon).

Others really I have particularly enjoyed: Leuven & Gent (Bel), Brighton (UK), Avignon (Fr), Prague & Olomouc (CzR) Tunis (Tun), Valencia (Esp), Lisbon (Por), Chicago (US), Rome (Ita), Bremen & Bamberg (Deu), Marrakesh (Mrc) Krakow (Pol)

Quebec City is extremely beautiful. its walls gates, gates, old buildings, and churches; are all amazing.

I really liked Washington D.C., Jerusalem, Blois, Victoria

Jerusalem, though, has got to be my favorite city, that i have been too. a surprise around every corner. and it is absolutely incredible. one has to go there some time in their life.
