This seems far away, but with the Preliminary Assessment (PA) timelines in place, it isn't.

If you want your site inscribed in 2029, you must submit the PA in 2025.
Timelines:
· 15 September (2025) Submit PA
· 1 October (2026) Reply from AB's on PA
· <A minimum of 12 months shall occur between reception of the Preliminary Assessment outcome and the submission of the related Nomination Dossier>
· 1 Feb (2028) Submit Nomination dossier
· WHC (2029) Outcome

Archaeological Remains at the Hoeamsa Temple Site (Korea)

"The most urgent task is to submit a preliminary evaluation application to UNESCO by September 15th of this year. In order to do so, it must go through several rounds of deliberation by the Cultural Heritage Committee."

I think 2029 is more likely for this one - they have to follow the new path to nomination which is longer.

WHC 2029

- Victorian Goldfields (Australia)
- Waldsiedlung Zehlendorf - Extension (Germany)
- Archaeological Remains at the Hoeamsa Temple Site (Korea)
- City of York: Historic Urban Core (United Kingdom)

While York seems to be cautiously aiming for 2030, if they are already going through the preliminary evaluation, if all goes well 2029 looks certainly possible.

"In June 2024, the York bid was successfully selected by DCMS to request a preliminary assessment of a potential nomination direct from the UNESCO World Heritage Committee. A response is expected in October 2025. It's anticipated that UNESCO will invite further clarification, with the final nomination potentially being submitted for a decision by the UNESCO World Heritage Committee in 2030." https://www.york.gov.uk/WorldHeritage

European Paper Mills (Czechia, Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain)

Looks like this nomination will be 2029 based on the preliminary evaluation submission date.

"The application will be submitted to the World Heritage Centre by 15 September 2025. If the initial evaluation is successful, the parties will be able to develop a nomination application."

FYI - I have removed 2029 from the WHC overview page, as I found it a bit too speculative and that leads to issues. Focusing now on the coming 3 years.

During this process I split the Transatlantic Cable Ensemble into 2 tentative sites again, 1 for Canada and 1 for Ireland. Data has been assigned to the respective pages. Only the 'ticks' I have not done (yet), it may need a re-tick via an edit of a previous visit cluster.

We can still keep on discussing the sites aiming for 2029 here in this topic of course.

Sigh

I sincerely wonder whether it will pass, but I also suspect it is kind of opportunistic, such as "you cannot leave this out if you have another one like Compostela"

Of course each nomination may get the approval of the Advisory bodies or not, but it can be of interest or useful to know which nominations are in queue.

The Pacific atoll-island cultural landscape of Tuvalu

This feels like a preliminary nomination, especially the timing, thus 2029 would fit the timeline.
