They might want to consider 2027 when the 'Capital Fortifications of Hanyang' will be on the agenda! Either way, I am excited for this possibility, its well past due.

I think this pushes Las Labradas to 2027.

Wat Phra Mahathat Woramahawihan (Thailand)

Extract from local news that Director of Department of Fine Arts reported to Minister of Culture that "The Department of Fine Arts aims to prepare documents and propose Wat Mahathat Woramahavihan, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province to apply for registration as a World Cultural Heritage within this year (2024)"

Interesting Fact
All previous cultural WHS nomination were initiated and done by experts and historians under the Department of Fine Arts in collaboration with local ICOMOS. Wat Mahathat is the first nomination initiated and done by provincial government and politician. The nomination caused a lot of problem and controversies on provincial government budget expenditure until last year that central government and local ICOMOS intervened and took the work in their arms.

Indeed, the "Plano Estratégico e de Marketing para o Turismo AVALIAÇÃO INTERMÉDIA São Tomé e Príncipe | 2018- 2025" Page 64 has as "OBJETIVO ESTRATÉGICO 2. CONTRIBUIR PARA A PRESERVAÇÃO DOS ESPAÇOS NATURAIS E CULTURAIS" with a "OBJETIVO ESPECÍFICO" to achieve as an METAS OPERACIONAIS ("Operational goal") for 2025 "1 candidatura UNESCO",

Let's hope all that "management consultancy speak" isn't simply "shelfware"!! This could be another "tick" from long long ago.....Is it (or any of the 4 ) in the "Upstream Process"???

Nigeria - Gashaki-Gumpti National Park

The news is quite confusing, not sure this is just for PA process or part of preparing for final dossier which such timeline should be for WHC 2026 or 2027.
