Tarrafal Concentration Camp (Cabo Verde)

"Cape Verde wants to move forward in 2025 with the candidacy of the Tarrafal concentration camp as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, in a joint initiative with Portugal, Guinea-Bissau and Angola. 'It is not up to us to make the announcement now', the project is 'maturing', but there is "a window of opportunity" for the application to be submitted by 2025."

Please, allow me to correct you, I always see the same mistake. For the mexican nomination, the right word is "Sinaloa" not "Sinalao". Sinaloa is the name of the mexican state where Las Labradas is located.

This article in Dutch about the Flemish Workers' Hall "De Vooruit" in Gent says "De Vooruit" wants to become World Heritage and that a joint dossier is being prepared for 2026, with possible nomination in 2027.

It seems that they are moving away from 2026 (which is still on the official Danish nomination website) towards 2027, as stated in the Belgian press (reported by Jurre) and also in a quote I found from the Copenhagen city council ("It is the Danish state that sends the nomination on behalf of the entire series and it is expected that this will happen in January 2026."). So I guess we can move it forward to 2027. Many participating countries still have to update their T Lists as well.

Do we have a list of countries who will participate this nomination other than Denmark, Argentina and Australia?

I just saw that Ghent will soon be added. https://www.facebook.com/groups/235650211682186

Yes, potentially UK (Durham), Canada (Vancouver? or Rossland? or Winnipeg? - not sure about this one) and Finland (Paasitorni) too (and Belgium (Ghent)). But these countries first have to finish their domestic process of tentative nomination.

I was informed the Ukrainian Labour Temple in Winnipeg was the one in the running.
