Abu Mena
Decides to remove Abu Mena (Egypt) from the List of World Heritage in Danger

Good news, after the positive reports we already had from the review by Frederic earlier this year

A minute faster than me! :)

And they added another doc (7a pt4), which says:

Here you can find the order in which the nominations will be discussed from Friday onwards:

Although they usually change it last minute (ooh, the Mayor is coming and he only has time from 1-2pm)

Reopening this topic, as the parts of WHC 2025 meeting that are the most interesting for our use are done with.

I am currently finalizing the details on the newly added WHS as shown on the site pages, adding a few bits here and there including the updated set of locations. Those for the Colonial Transisthmian Route of Panama are in already!

UNESCO has been very quick this year, working over the weekend, in adding all documentation for the new WHS, including maps (although still listing the locations that were explicitly excluded).

Regarding Ancient Khuttal, it seems that it did not lose any of its proposed locations despite the wishes of ICOMOS. It's not in the amendment.

If someone sees this otherwise, please let me know. Going for 11 locations now on the website.

Am I not mistaken that Diy Gid Biy was inscribed as a separate WHS rather than extension of Sukur, as it was proposed initially?

It is separate, wojtek, not an extension to Sukur. The extension story was a bit earlier in its history

They are very very closely linked both culturally and physically and the pre 2025 WHC Cameroon Tentative List had it showing officially as "Le paysage culturel de Diy Gid Biy des Monts Mandara (extension du Paysage culturel de Sukur)" until its post WHC update this weekend!

The decision however seems to have been made at least during the Nomination prpearation to progress the Cameroonian nomination as a separate site rather than as an extension. With ICOMOS Guidance? Maybe also the governments didn't want to get involved in joint management etc of a single site (Nether goverment is in full control of its area of the Mandara Mountains)? Though one might have thought that the locals might have wanted "official" cooperation across an unnatural Post Colonial frontier? This extract from the Nomination File Comparative Evaluation with the Nigerian WHS of Sukur explains why (My bolds)-

I.e The Nigerian Sukur WHS is a "Living CL" whilst the Cameroonian one is a "Relict CL"! So the Cameroonian site is only inscribed under Crit 3. The Nomination File explains further.

Mount Kumgang is, for some reason, also listed in Paris on the map :)

True. It is weird, since all the other years seem to be OK and also the list on the page itself shows it correctly. Will put in a bug report but need to find out why it got to 29

Update: checked all years, 1997 is also wrong (should be 46 instead of 45), and 1994 and 1990 and 1986 and 1980 as well. Now find the common denominator between 2025 and 1997...
