ICOMOS covered the site's significant Greek and Roman heritage.

Unanimous approval. Archaeological Site of Philippi inscribed, and in less than ten minutes! The Greek representative invited everyone at the conference to an exhibition on Philippi at the Greek consulate in Istanbul.

Next up is Antequera Dolmens from Spain. Unless my flight is delayed, I may not get to hear much more from the afternoon session.

Looks like a forgone conclusion that it will be inscribed. I'm starting to feel like I am friends with the voices of the delegates that speak everytime (Portugal, Finland, Jamaica, Tanzania, Lebanon)

Enjoy the flight, where are you heading?

The Portuguese representative's great-grandmother was from Antequera, so he wholeheartedly is in favor of inscription. South Korea would like to work with Spain on conservation of similar Korean sites. Vietnam, Jamaica, Turkey, Tanzania, etc. offer congratulations and support for recognizing under-represented Neolithic/megalithic properties on the WHS list. Much more talking than during Philippi's nomination. I guess once one country starts speaking, everyone else has to have their turn in the spotlight....

Yup -- I'm pretty certain this will be inscribed, too. Six for six today!

I'm off to visit two WHS in the southwest of the U.S., though I'm sure I could have picked a better (cooler) time to visit.

Antequera Dolmens indeed inscribed!

Next up - the local nomination: Archaeological Site of Ani

And with that, I have to call it a day. I look forward to seeing what other updates there are from the afternoon session later on.

Now I'm super envious, one of my favourite spots.

We just went to a Georgia O'Keeffe exhibition at the weekend, which made me want to revisit the area, and I was listening to a podcast about US roadtrips this morning, so I'm very much in the mood for that.

Enjoy, we will keep you up to date with the goings on in Istanbul.

Ani also on track to Inscription. Unanimously.

Portugal guy hopes it will bring Turkey and Armenia together.

Finland disagrees. Finally, someone dares to speak out.
