Hin Nam No National Protected Area (Laos), plans to submit in February 2017, but it would not be able to reach the WHC until 2019 since it was only just recently submitted as a tentative nomination.

Now that the operational guidelines have been changed only one nomination per state party can be put forward. This will effect Japan, Italy, France, South Korea and Myanmar.

I think Bagan is the priority site from Myanmar.

For Korea, one of these nominations may sneak in for 2018, alongside the serial Buddhist temple nomination.

Seowon, Confucian Academies of Korea is the priority candidate for 2019.

Southwestern Coast Tidal Flats is ALSO the priority candidate for 2019. The original tidal flat nomination has expanded to include Yubo-do.

This makes me think both nominations will be submitted for 2019, but only 1 will be evaluated by ICOMOS/IUCN.

The natural one (Tidal Flats) will automatically take precedence, won't it? Or would countries have to choose among their nominations? I think UNESCO will just go down the preference list until they reach 25, like we did in our excercise.

P.S.: I just re-read the new Operational Guidelines, and the "1 per country rule" comes before the limit of 25. So that means a country will have to choose first among their darlings.

Which one of the two proposed cultural nominations of China and Italy is a CL?

What happened with the nominations of Burkina Faso, Belarus and New Zealand?

Seemingly there is more chance these nominations will be submitted for 2020.

Furthermore, as we've discovered every year, our predictions are not 100% accurate. I am still trying to discover the official submissions for Italy and China. The two sites listed are based on previous reports/rumors. They are certainly frontrunners.

Thailand : Wat Phra Mahathat Woramahawihan

According to media announcement by the nomination committee, this nomination will be submit to UNESCO before Feb 2018. The dossier will be made by an university and local government, so this nomination will be the first one that not made by central government. The outcome will be very interesting.
