Ancient Egypt (4)

Thebes
Gebel Barkal
Nubian monuments (Abu Simbel)
Memphis (Pyramids)

I would also add Meroe.

This might appear too centred around a specific culture, but I think Ancient Egypt deserves as special place for their unique achievements and attractive enigmatic culture which inspired the development of modern archaeology in general.
I would opt for all three major sites in Egypt (Thebes, Abu Simbel and Memphis) as well as Meroe and skip Gebel Barkal which is probably less significant than the others.

All of them, with the only possible exception of Gebel Barkal. Meroe seems sufficient for Kushite culture. Pyramids, Abu Simbel, and Thebes are world class.

Agree with the above. Exclude only Jebel Barkal.
Egyptian Civilisation may be doing well on our reduced list but is under represented on the full one.

Ah, an easy one that I can handle on the road.

Thebes
Gebel Barkal
Nubian monuments (Abu Simbel)
Memphis (Pyramids)
Meroe

I'll add them to the list. I'll see if I can do more updating in the coming days (wifi is a scarce commodity in Uganda, at least in the southwest).
