I'm mostly basing my selections here on sites I've picked for other categories.

1. Aldabra Atoll -- great example of an atoll, and highlights bird and sea life in the Indian Ocean
2. Fraser Island -- largest sand island in the world, which is enough reason for selection
3. Wrangel Island -- highlights an Arctic island with accompanying flora and fauna
4. Sub-Antarctic Islands -- highlights insular flora and fauna in the Southern Ocean region

I'd use Hawaii Volcanoes National Park as an example of volcanic island-building, and the Galapagos Islands and the Socotra Archipelago to represent insular adaptation of flora and fauna. I'd use the Brazilian Atlantic Islands and Banc d'Arguin to represent Atlantic islands.

4 out of these 10 are already being discussed at other categories, and Aldabra and Wrangel have made it into the A-list (I support these).

From the remaining ones (East Rennell, Fraser Island, Henderson Island, Lord Howe, Ogasawara Islands, Sub-Antarctic), I would not choose any.

Summarizing, still all a bit narrow and close together:

Aldabra Atoll
East Rennell
Fraser Island - largest sand island in the world
Gough and Inaccessible Islands
Henderson Island
Lord Howe Island
Ogasawara Islands
St. Kilda
Sub-Antarctic Islands - highlights insular flora and fauna in the Southern Ocean region
Wrangel Island - highlights an Arctic island with accompanying flora and fauna
