Here's the link to the larger
Cultural Landscapes category, for those who need it. I'm not enjoying this category as much as others, so I may be picking fewer selections than this category warrants. Here's what stands out to me:
1. Thingvellir -- home to the world's oldest Parliament, and representative of Norse and Germanic culture
2. Pergamon -- highlights a city at a crossroads between cultures, with ruins from Hellenistic, Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman periods of history.
3. Ancient Cities of Northern Syria -- purely sentimental right now, as these not only highlight the transition from the Roman period to early Christianity, but also show how conflicts put cultural treasures in danger (as does Bamiyan Valley)
4. Cornwall and West Devon Mining Landscape -- if you need to represent mining, this site at least shows the role copper and tin mining played in the Industrial Revolution, and is at least a very scenic location
