Thanks for this information, I like that plaque, and well done Solivagant for getting the e-mail address off of it.
One thing I note, I think all the markers are marginally off. If I understand the map properly the marker is in the buffer zone and not the core zone.
The
official map highlights the whole of the "Government Experimental Tea Plantation" which is the grid like planting you can see on satelite maps.
However the Core zone comprises only the south eastern sector (2 Eastern most columns and 4 southern most rows). I'm fairly confident that means the current marker is in the buffer zone and shoud be the other side of the road.
If we wanted to correct it I think tweaking it 100m east to:
-5.783773, 144.332740 would be in the core zone.
I normally wouldn't be quite so picky (perhaps I would :)) but I wouldn't want someone to get so close and find they had only been in the buffer zone based off of mildly erroneous data.
I'm sure the visitor centre would point them in the right direction anyway, I just didn't want a pang of guilt for not flagging it up.
