Jurre:
it's being described here as a candidate for WHS status in 2024?

Well, if they're still preparing the dossier as described in the article, they are already too late for 2024 (Feb 1, 2023 was the cut-off date).
I think this is the T Site: https://www.worldheritagesite.org/tentative/id/5209 (maybe 2025?)

Also in Iran's pipeline: https://www.middleeastmonitor.com/20241107-iran-to-submit-historic-mosques-for-unesco-world-heritage-recognition/

Not on the T List yet in this composition, it would include "The 12th century Jameh Mosque of Saveh, known for its blend of architectural elements from various historical eras, is one of the strongest contenders for the list. Other notable examples include Shiraz's Qajar-era Nasir Al-Mulk Mosque, which is famed for its colourful stained glass windows and interior, the Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque in Isfahan, and the Blue Mosque in Tabriz."

Cultural Landscape of Alamout maybe 2027 or 2028?

"He announced that UNESCO inspectors will visit Alamut Castle to finalize the world registration process in September of next year" - link

The Historical City of Masouleh looks to re-submit, also could be for 2027 or 2028 - link

This one also requires a study of the Persian Calendar!
When I put the text in Google Translate, it says the article was written 10/11/1403.
That corresponds with January 2025. The year 1404 will start in March 2025.

So "September next year" will be Sept 2025 and thus for WHC 2026? (and why does the translation switch to the Gregorian calendar here?)

Obviously no one is going to visit Iran right now, but that does not mean we cannot celebrate Persian culture and prepare for future visits.
In that regard, I have just put live the Guide to the Persian Caravanserai. In the production, Solivagant and I have used the same approach as described here for the WWI Memorials and the Pile Dwellings.

If you see any clear omissions or components that should not be in Tier 1, please share your experiences (preferably if you have been to that component yourself and can tell what it is really like).

It will be "interesting" to see if the Israeli/US threat to attack Iran's railway system comes to pass..... the entire route from Bandar-e Emam Khomeini on the Gulf via Tehran to Bandar Torkaman on the Caspian is of course fully inscribed as "World Heritage" whatever our personal views about the limited and zero OUV of much of it.

The damage to Ukrainian WHS during the Russo-Ukraine war and the damage to the Golestan Palace in the current Iranian conflict has all been "deniable" damage which could be put down to accidents etc etc..... but to deliberately attack any part of the TransIranian railway, having threatened in advance to do so would seem to be of a different order - and one which could open retaliatory floodgates???

We will of course find out across the next few days......
