I recently returned to Bruges, Belgium on a trip to visit and rephotograph some world heritage sites in Flanders.

While I was in Bruges I realized that the belfry in Bruges is part of 2 world heritage sites:

- Belfries of Belgium and France
- Historic Centre of Brugge

The belfry is explicitly mentioned in the "outstanding universal value" section of both sites.

That got me wondering, are there any other buildings or places in the world which have an overlap like this? Where they would technically fall under 2 or more world heritage sites?

Sure there are : Iguacu/Iguazu, Burgos + Routes of Santiago in Spain, Santiago de Compostela + Route of Santiago in Spain, Belfry of Tournai + Tournai Cathedral, Amiens Belfry + Cathedral, etc., etc.

We actually have a connection on this one as there are quite a few places that qualify.

The Historic Centre of Brugge actually contains three sites, as the Begijnhof is also in the inscribed area. I think it may be the only place that you can see three world heritage sites from the one point inside a World Heritage Site. (either on top of the Belfry or in the centre of the garden at the Begijnhoof)

I think there will be a few places outside a WHS that you can see three inscribed sites though. (A few taller buildings in central London will give you a view of Westminster, Tower of London and Greenwich, I doubt any would stretch to Kew as well).
